How to Survive College

As some of you may know, I’m about 4 weeks into my senior year of college. I’m studying Management and Marketing, and so far this semester is starting to wear on me (Senioritis lol). I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way, so I’ve put together my top tips for surviving college.

My first tip is pretty office supplies. I feel that I have a little more motivation when I have something pretty to look at. I normally check my local Target and Marshall’s for the best notebooks, pens, planners, post-it notes, etc. I always use colorful notecards, they help keep me organized. Out of all planners that I have tried, this Planner is hands down my ABSOLUTE favorite. It’s 18- months and each month has pictures, and motivational quotes to help keep you focused throughout the year.

My second tip is COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE. I truly drink about 5 cups a day. I wouldn’t be able to survive college without it. My favorite drinks are the Salted Caramel Mocha and the White Chocolate Mocha with 2 pumps of raspberry syrup(if you haven’t tried it, you need to ASAP) from Starbucks. I also always try to hit up my local coffee shops, they typically have some of the best coffee. My two favorite local shops are Taylor Books and Moxxee, if you are ever in Charleston, you need to try them out. Both, also, are great places to bring your computer and books to study at.

My third tip is snacks. It’s super easy to stop at a fast-food restaurant and run through the drive-thru to get food, but I try to be a little more healthy. I notice when I eat fast food, I typically get hungry faster and feel sluggish and tired the more I eat it. So I always try to grab a protein or breakfast bar and throw it into my backpack for in between  classes or on a study break. I love the Luna Bars and the Kind Snacks, they give me extra energy and keep me full between meals. They also, have a ton of different flavors and are super tasty.

My forth, and final, tip is don’t get discouraged. It’s super easy to lose motivation on a week before an exam or when you have 15 exams, 10 projects, and 80 papers to write in one week, a tad exaggerated, and your computer breaks down. We’ve all been there, and it’s not fun. But just try to keep the big picture in mind, the important part it to get through it.
